onClick Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
Summary: onClick stores your form profiles and OpenAI API key locally in your browser. Page HTML is sent to OpenAI only when you choose to scrape or refetch fields. We do not sell your data or run background collection.
1. Who we are
onClick is a Chrome browser extension that helps you save form field profiles for specific web pages and fill those forms again later. This privacy policy explains what information the extension handles and how that information is used.
2. Information the extension handles
Depending on how you use onClick, the extension may handle the following:
- Form profiles — profile name, page URL (origin and path), field labels, field locators, field types, and values you enter or save.
- OpenAI API key — an API key you provide in Settings, stored locally so the extension can call OpenAI on your behalf.
- Page HTML — a copy of the current page’s HTML when you click Scrape & create profile or Refetch on a field, used to detect form fields.
- Active tab URL — shown in the popup so you know which page scrape and fill actions will target, and used to match saved profiles to pages.
3. How we use information
onClick uses this information only to provide its core functionality:
- Detect form fields on pages you choose to scrape
- Save, edit, and load form profiles on your device
- Fill form fields when you click Fill from saved
- Validate that saved field locators still exist on the page before saving
The extension does not collect or transmit page data in the background. HTML is read and sent to OpenAI only when you take an explicit action in the popup.
4. Where data is stored
Form profiles and your OpenAI API key are stored locally in your browser using
Chrome’s extension storage (chrome.storage.local). This data stays on
your device unless you remove it or uninstall the extension.
onClick does not operate its own servers to store your profiles or API key.
5. Third-party services
When you scrape or refetch a field, the extension sends page HTML and related prompt context to OpenAI using the API key you provide. OpenAI processes that request according to its own terms and privacy policy:
You are responsible for your OpenAI account, API usage, and any charges incurred through your API key. onClick does not provide or share an API key with other users.
6. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
- We do not run analytics or tracking in the extension.
- We do not access tabs unless you open the extension popup and take action.
- We do not execute remote code downloaded at runtime.
7. Permissions
onClick requests browser permissions only as needed for form scraping and filling:
- activeTab — access the tab you are viewing when you scrape or fill a form
- scripting — inject the extension’s content script into that tab when needed
- storage — save profiles and your API key locally
- https://api.openai.com/* — send scrape/refetch requests to OpenAI
8. Your choices and data deletion
You can:
- Delete individual saved profiles from within the extension
- Remove or change your OpenAI API key in Settings
-
Delete all locally stored extension data by uninstalling onClick or clearing the
extension’s data in
chrome://extensions
9. Children’s privacy
onClick is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
